ZAPORIZHIA – The government is not printing hryvnias and never has done, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said, rejecting reports about alleged future devaluation of the Ukrainian currency following the upcoming elections.

“The hryvnia is stable in Ukraine and it will remain stable after the
elections. We don’t print hryvnias and never did this before. This
could lead to a collapse of the Ukrainian economy. And despite all of
the problems, the government is tackling the issues,” the PM said at a
meeting with employees of Dniprovska water pump station No. 1 in
Zaporizhia on Thursday.
