Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has discussed the current social and economic situation in Ukraine with IMF Mission Chief Christopher Jarvis and IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Max Alier.

The Ukrainian government’s press service reported on Tuesday, Sept. 18, that
during a meeting the sides discussed the ways of minimizing the
influence of negative tendencies on the world financial and economic
markets for Ukraine’s economy.

In addition, the sides decided to discuss the main parameters of the national budget of Ukraine for 2013.

“The head of the government stressed that Ukraine is fulfilling all
of its obligations under the program of cooperation with the IMF,” reads
the statement.

The participants of the meeting also expressed readiness for
consultations and discussion of measures that should be taken for
further stabilization of the economic and financial policy of Ukraine.
