Azarov promises to increase funding for training Paralympic athletes

The draft state budget for 2013 will envisage funding for improving training facilities for Paralympic athletes, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

The draft state budget for 2013 will envisage funding for improving training facilities for Paralympic athletes, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"Our job is to help you achieve such good results and we're going to do this. We will envisage all the necessary expenses in the state budget for 2013 not only for the development of Paralympic sports, but also to improve the conditions of life and work," he said at the meeting with winners of the 2012 Paralympics in Kyiv on Monday.

"This was an unprecedented victory for our team at the Paralympics, and I congratulate you on this success," the prime minister said.

As reported, the bonus for gold medal at the Paralympic Games was increased from Hr 700,000 to Hr 800,000, the bonus for a silver medal grew from Hr 500,000 to Hr 550,000, and the bonus for a bronze medal was increased from Hr 350,000 to Hr 380,000.
