Oslo – Ukraine is considering the possibility of organizing liquefied gas supplies via the LNG terminal from Norway, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

“We have launched the construction of an LNG terminal to receive liquefied gas. We hope that when the construction is over, we will be able to buy around 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of liquefied gas at spot prices, which are currently 2.5 times lower than that of the Russian gas we buy today. We could also cooperate with Norway on the issue,” he said at a forum of Ukrainian and Norwegian businessmen in Oslo on Friday.

Deputy Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Makukha told Interfax-Ukraine that Ukraine has not started official talks with Norway on such supplies, but the issue is very promising from the viewpoint of the diversification of future liquefied gas supplies to Ukraine.
