Ukraine has managed to retain positive trends in February and secure price stability, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.

"Inflation over the first twenty days of February was around 0.6%," he said opening a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The prime minister stressed this is one of the lowest rates of inflation in the country’s history, particularly considering the difficult situation in world food markets.

Inflation in January 2011 accelerated to 1percent compared to 0.8percent in December 2010, 0.3 percent in November 2010 and 0.5 percent in October 2010.

Inflation measured in annual terms (year-over-year) in Ukraine in January 2011 slowed to 8. percent from 9.1 percent in December 2010.
