KHARKIV – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is planning to build and launch six new gas booster stations soon, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

“We’re planning to build six more stations in the near future. We
will launch new stations practically every quarter. This will allow us
to reduce purchases of expensive gas and use our own gas for the needs
of the population,” Azarov told journalists during a visit to Kharkiv
Tractor Plant.

The premier also said that the gas booster stations will have
high-tech equipment, and added that in a year Ukrainian plants will
produce 50% of such equipment.

“I’ve set a task – the stations that will be launched in a year
should 50% consist of equipment produced by our plants, because today,
unfortunately, high-tech equipment is produced abroad. We could make
such stations in Sumy, for instance,” Azarov said.

The premier added that the introduction of the second line of the gas
booster station at the Yuliyivske oil and gas condensate field will
allow the production of an additional 100 million cubic meters of gas
per year.
