You're reading: Azarov: Ukraine wants to supply machinery, spare parts to Azeri railway projects

BAKU – Ukraine wants to supply a wide range of materials, machinery and spare parts for the realization of railway projects in which Azerbaijan participates, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"Ukraine is a large manufacturer of all things regarding railway transport, starting from rails and ending with locomotives," he said at a meeting with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on April 4.

Azarov said that Ukraine is interested in making supplies of materials for the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars projects which is planned to finish by 2013.

He also said that the country is cooperating with leading manufacturers of high-speed trains and establishing its own high-speed train production facilities.

"I will inform you about this so you can mull our proposals," he added.
