You're reading: Azarov: Ukrainian-Russian committee holds preparation for interstate commission’s meeting

The Ukrainian-Russian Committee on Economic Cooperation made much on June 27 to prepare for a meeting of the Interstate Commission at the level of the two countries' presidents, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

“I think we have made great work to prepare for a meeting of the
Interstate Commission at the level of the two presidents,” he told
reporters after the committee’s meeting in Kyiv on June 27.

The Ukrainian premier noted that during the meeting they discussed
the issues of bilateral cooperation in such areas as aerospace,
shipbuilding, engineering, energy sector and agriculture. In particular,
they decided to develop a program for cooperation in engineering for
2013-2014.

The delegates also confirmed their readiness to continue the inter-regional and border cooperation, the premier said.

Azarov praised the sincere interest of members of the Russian
government in the establishment and strengthening of the
Ukrainian-Russian cooperation.

“I believe that with the coming of a new team, a new impetus will be
given to this important cooperation with Russia,” the premier summed up
