Ukrainian Emergencies Minister Viktor Baloha is intending to initiate the construction of waste disposal enterprises in Ukraine.

"Why do we transport waste to the United Kingdom and Germany? Let’s build the facilities [for waste disposal]. We should propose to the premier to build waste disposal plants within ten years in Ukraine," he said during a meeting of the state commission for nuclear and environmental safety and emergencies, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry reported on Friday.

In turn, Head of the Environmental Protection Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Oleksandr Sokolov stressed that Ukraine needs a plant that could dispose pesticides, mercury, medical waste, etc.
