The evacuation of Ukrainians from Egypt, according to preliminary calculations, has cost the state Hr 1–1.5 million, Ukrainian Emergencies Minister Viktor Baloha has said.

"The Emergencies Ministry conducted three flights, by which 419 people returned to Ukraine," the press service of the Emergencies Ministry cited Baloha as saying.

Baloha said that the ministry would issue the first tranches for the evacuation on Feb. 10-11. The minister promised that all financial procedures will be carried out transparently and the results will be made public.

As reported, on January 31, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated Hr 10 million to evacuate Ukrainian citizens from Egypt due to the volatile political situation in the country.

The tourists (about 6,000 as of the end of January) are being transported from Egypt by charter flights.

The Foreign Ministry said that all Ukrainian tourists are expected to leave Egypt by Feb. 13.
