Ukraine's State Aviation Service has extended the ban on civil flights to the entire zone of law enforcement operation in the east of the country, State Aviation Service chief Denys Antoniuk told Interfax-Ukraine on July 8.

A ban was earlier introduced on civil flights in the border zone limited to 100 kilometers along the border perimeter at an altitude of up to 7.9 kilometers. No further limits have been imposed on the altitude, Antoniuk said.

Earlier reports also said that in connection with tensions in eastern Ukraine, where air passengers’ safety cannot be guaranteed and related technological processes cannot be controlled in full, operators’ certificates have been withdrawn from three airports: the Donetsk airport from June 3, the Luhansk airport from June 11 and the Mariupol airport from June 19.
