Brussels - The head of the outgoing European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, has expressed his hope that a deal over natural gas supplies to Ukraine will be reached in Brussels as early as Thursday evening, Oct. 30.
During a symbolical handover of powers to his successor Jean-Claude Juncker, who is assuming the office of the EU President from Nov. 1, Barroso said that he expected an important agreement to be reached in the same building (where the ceremony was taking place) in Brussels tonight over the important issue of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine.
