Minsk - The next meeting of the trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis may be held "in the very near future," Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik told reporters in Minsk on Thursday, Aug. 28.

“I can confirm that the next meeting is expected to take place in the very near future,” Mironchik said without providing further details.

The sides attending the Customs Union-Ukraine-EU summit in Minsk on Aug. 26 agreed to make the Belarusian capital a regular venue for meetings of the Contact Group, which includes Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, he said.

Hopefully, meetings to be held in Minsk will help find a solution to the Ukrainian crisis, Mironchik said.

Minsk has already hosted two rounds of talks on the Ukrainian issue, he added.
