Minsk - Belarus has taken measures to bar products manufactured by the Ukrainian confectionery company Roshen from entering Russian territory through the Belarusian section of the border of the Belarusian-Kazakh-Russian Customs Union territory, the Belarusian Health Ministry said in a statement.

“The Belarusian Health Ministry has taken measures to bar confectionery products manufactured at the factories of the Ukrainian confectionery corporation Roshen from entering Russian territory through the checkpoints at the Belarusian section of the Customs Union customs border or being re-exported from Belarusian territory,” it said.

The measures were taken in line with the Customs Union agreement on sanitary measures dated December 11, 2009, it said.

At the same time, specialists from state sanitary supervision bodies and institutions are collecting samples of these products to subject them to laboratory tests to determine their compliance with the Customs Union requirements, it said.

“If the Ukrainian-made confectionery products’ incompliance with the existing safety requirements is uncovered, exhaustive measures will be taken in line with the Belarusian and Customs Union laws,” the Belarusian Health Ministry said.
