The Belarusian Central Elections Commission has received an official invitation to take part in the monitoring of the presidential elections in Ukraine, Belarusian Central Elections Commission Secretary Nikolai Lozovik told Interfax on Friday.

“We have received an invitation to take part in the monitoring of the
presidential elections. It is signed by Ukrainian Central Election
Commission Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovsky. Two people are invited,”
Lozovik said.

“No decision has been made yet on whether we will participate, but I
and Vadim Ipatov, deputy chairman of the Central Elections Commission
and the director of the National center for Legislation and Legal
Studies, are ready to go,” he said.

“There is a whole month until the elections. We are having
consultations with the Foreign Ministry and are finding out the
situation in the country,” Lozovik said.

“In addition, we doubt that elections will take place in all regions.
And the elections may be disrupted in the event of the further
exacerbation of the socio-political situation,” he said.
