Kyiv Post's Best of Kyiv 2010:Hudson

Hudson gained 26 percent of Kyiv Post reader votes, narrowly edging out three-time winner Brain Source International by two percentage points this year.

It specializes in permanently recruiting qualified foreign and Ukrainian middle and top managers in a variety of fields including banking, financial and professional services, engineering and industry, construction, real estate, property and infrastructure, information technology and telecommunication, energy, automotive, pharmaceutical and healthcare, consumer goods and retail.

“Annually, we place roughly 100 managers,” a Hudson spokesperson said.

The company will reach eight years of age in April and has a staff of 30 full-time employees.

The Hudson representative said its competitive advantage is “deep specialization.” The company divides practices by specialization and each practice has a team of dedicated consultants.

“Every consultant knows their field and has an average of five years of experience,” the spokesperson said.

Globally, the NASDAQ traded company employs more than 2,000 professionals serving clients and candidates in more than 20 countries.

“Hudson achieved year-over-year revenue and gross margin growth in all four of our core regions globally during the third quarter [2010], led by strength in permanent recruitment in Australia, the U.K. and Asia,” said Jon Chait, Hudson Highland Group’s chairman and chief executive officer.

In third quarter 2010, Hudson’s global revenue increased 18.1 percent to $200.4 million compared to the same period in 2009.
