Kyiv Post’s Best of Kyiv 2010: Oliva

The mark of a true Italian restaurant is not only delicious spaghetti but also an elusive Italian spirit. Roaming in search for a bit of Tuscan warmth and taste, Kyiv Post readers found it in the chain of Oliva restaurants.

Oliva welcomed their first visitors back in 2008. Now they are proud to serve close to a half-million fans of Italian cuisine per year. Visitors have compelling reasons to love this place.

First, it’s the simple and fresh yet delicious Italian cuisine at a reasonable price that makes people want to come back. What Oliva is truly proud of is the fresh pasta that they make by themselves every day. No wonder pasta dishes are among the most popular orders.

Second, it’s the atmosphere. The cozy and noisy trattorias, with jars of olives or woodpiles on the shelves, dried pepper and garlic on the walls, welcomes everyone as friends or a part of a large famiglia.

And even if you dine alone, you will rarely feel lonely as all the restaurants are usually crowded with visitors, sipping tasty wine and digging into their generous tasty servings of genuine Italian dishes.

Third, it is the location as all the four restaurants are the spots of Italian sunshine in the downtown of Kyiv.
The bottom line is that after visiting Oliva everyone can count on two things: a joyful mood and a happy stomach.
