You're reading: Bids on Metalist stadium’s sale to start on August 27, says Kharkiv city council

Kharkiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Bids to sell a single property complex of municipal enterprise Metalist, a regional sports complex, will be held on August 27.

“The contest will be held on August 27, 2013 at 1000 in Kharkiv at 5
Svoboda Square, fourth entryway, third floor, at the department on
municipal property of the regional council’s executive agency,” reads
the report posted on official Web site of Kharkiv regional council.

According to the report, the privatization facility costs UAH 562.101
million (without VAT), including: UAH 561.385 million of capital
assets, UAH 1.950 million of floating assets, UAH 97,000 of long-term
liabilities, and UAH 1.138 million of current liabilities.

The initial price of the facility with VAT amounts UAH 674.521 million.

According to the official act on the right of land plot use as of
June 11, 2010, Metalist complex is the user of the land plot with square
7.087 hectares in Kharkiv at 65 Plekhanivska Street. The Kharkiv city
council, under its decision as of September 26, 2012, provided an
additional land plot of 802 square meters for the constant use of
Metalist.

The report also gave the conditions of sale and operation of the facility.

“The final term for submitting bid applications, support documents
and business plans is seven days before the contest,” the report said.

As reported, in December 2012, the Gas Ukraine group of companies
reached an agreement on the acquisition of FC Metalist Kharkiv from
businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky. Serhiy Kurchenko became the new
president of FC Metalist. He spoke of his readiness to buy Kharkiv
municipal authorities’ share in the Metalist stadium.

As Kharkiv city mayor Hennadiy Kernes reported, money received from
the sale of the stadium will remain in the state budget and will be
spent on finishing the building of the city’s 30th metro station, and
the reconstruction of the city concert hall and historical museum.

On June 27, Kharkiv city council put the Metalist regional sport
complex onto the list of joint ownership facilities of territorial
village and town communities that are to be withdrawn through sale at
bids.
