The visit of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All-Russia to Ukraine and Odesa is an attempt to restore the past, atheism and communism, Bishop Yakiv of Odesa and Balta of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate said at a press conference in Odesa on Wednesday. "In fact, the church has received a vacuum-like spiritual emptiness in the past, difficult years, a time of atheism and communism. At present, the goal of the church is to renew and enrich people spiritually… But we see how our neighbors are generously are trying to restore the past," he said, referring to the Moscow Patriarchate.

Head of Odesa regional All-Ukrainian Svoboda Association Pavlo Kyrylenko, in turn, said the patriarch's visit was a visit by a Kremlin mentor and agent of the State Security Committee (KGB) and the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation.

"The present Russian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, in common with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (of the Moscow Patriarchate), supports those political forces that, in fact, have [attempted to] destroy the Christian Church, and the Orthodox Church since 1917… How can such people support political forces that eliminated hundreds of thousands of Orthodox priests and destroyed the Orthodox Church? So, we can conclude that all these veritable patriarchs are Kremlin mentors and agents of KGB and FSB," Kyrylenko said.

Is the Kyiv Post a reputable publication or not? To disseminate such nonsense, to dignify such such extraordinary remarks is very poor journalism. Is the Kyiv Post deliberately promoting divisiveness in the Ukraine when it publishes such astounding remarks? Sure, if the UOC-Kyiv Patriarchate has issues with the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church-MP then by all means lets have some reasoned discussio0n, perhaps based on the different views of national and church history - but 20 years after the fall of the atheistic communist powers to use such pathetic arguments just paints their promotors as trapped by the past and willing to use discredited misinformation to try and give themselves plausibility before the divisive and jingoistic right-wing forces trying to undermine free Ukraine - bet you a dollar to a cent the UOC-KP receive funding from some well-disguised USA agency or proxy - by the way, how is George Souros going - how many more millions has he spent lately trying to undermine Ukrainian democracy? Thanks be to God for the revivial of the Orthodox faith in Rus since the fall of the despicalbel God-hating Soviets. May our good God bless all Orthodox Christians in their evangelism and restoration of Holy Orthodoxy throughout all the Russias - may all citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine find true repentance and salvation in the Holy Orthodox Church.

Kirill is conspiring with the government of Yanukovych to persecute ALL Orthodox competition to Kirill's corrupt Satanic rule!

Here is a prior comment that I wrote:

The below article states what the Moscow KGB "church" (MP) {I will not call this church Orthodox} does to TRUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX believers. If the Kremlin does this to RUSSIANS, what do you expect them to do to UKRAINIANS – AGAIN?

In the 1920,s, 1930’s, and 1940’s the insanely delusional savage pagan barbarians in the Kremlin closed or destroyed ALL of the UKRAINIAN CHURCHES in UKRAINE, and MURDERED tens of thousands (10,000’s) of UKRAINIAN priests, clergy and their extended families in UKRAINE.

Now the Moscow KGB "church" (MP) wants more pulpits for their KGB "priests" to stand on – to shrive the UKRAINIAN people in UKRAINE, rather than returning the Ukrainian Churches, UKRAINIAN Churches’ land, and UKRAIAN Churches’ property that the kremlin stole from the UKRAINIAN people.

******

And the news is of how the clergy and faithful of our Church have been forced out of their churches in the most crude and blasphemous manner, churches which had been given to them for their perpetual use. The actions of our government officials are enough to give any Orthodox Christian living in our so-called “legitimate, democratic society” cause for alarm and reflection. Our churches, so dear to the heart of any believing person, were taken away from us.

The Orthodox Church, Orthodox Christians kicked out of Orthodox churches, have been subjected to persecution in its most blatant and naked form. And this is happening at a time when our country, Russia, no longer calls itself an atheistic government, and no longer seeks to establish atheism or any other “generally required” ideology.

Additionally, the Russian authorities tell us constantly that our country is free and powerful; that it is “rising from its knees;” that it is building a government based on law and order, and that its authorities guarantee freedom of religion, and respect the feelings and religious convictions of people of faith, especially of those who are Orthodox.

They constantly assure us that Russia is experiencing a religious renaissance, and that the Russian population is being cleansed from the defilement and the moral decay that it has inherited from the Godlessness of the Soviet era.

But how do we see things, who live in the very heart of Holy Russia – in the ancient center of Russian spirituality, Suzdal? The present government’s law enforcement agencies are turning out, throwing out into the street, people who are Russians, and Orthodox, natives of Suzdal, citizens of Russia, from ancient Orthodox churches, which these people rebuilt from complete ruins with faith and with love, paying for the repairs with their own measly pensions and meager salaries, and in which, with the government’s permission, and in accordance with the law, they poured out their prayers to God.

With an abundance of love in Christ Jesus,

Valentine, Metropolitan of Suzdal and Vladimir
