Bloodhound Gang band's bass guitarist Jared "Evil" Hasselhoff has apologized to the Ukrainian nation and the country's government for an incident with the Ukrainian flag, after which the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) banned him from entering Ukraine for five years.

“In most countries where we have concerts we hang flags on the stage. This was the concatenation of circumstances that the flag was there when we performed. I don’t understand why Ukrainians are offended by ketchup I sprayed before the flag. However, if it has offended them, I apologize to the Ukrainian people, the country and the government,” Hasselhoff said in an interview with the Ranok z Ukrainoiu morning show on the Ukraina TV channel, reads a posting on the channel’s website.

He did not comment on the situation with the Russian flag which he shoved down his pants during a concert in Odesa.

As reported, when Bloodhound Gang started its CIS tour in Ukraine this summer, one of its members urinated on stage, targeting the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag during a concert in Kyiv on July 30, but the audience was very much amused.

The next day, bassist Jared “Evil” Hasselhoff, 41, used the Russian flag as toilet paper at the Ibiza club in Odesa. He threw the desecrated flag into the crowd, where it was caught by a fan.

SBU banned Hasselhoff from entering Ukraine for five years for desecration of national symbols. The band was banned from entering Russia for five years.
