Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise (Kyiv), the largest airport of the country, could be headed by a representative of the State Railways Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia), Yevhen Dykhne, a well-informed source has told Interfax-Ukraine. 

The source also added that earlier Dykhne worked in Lviv airlines.

The press service of the airport earlier said that Serhiy Hombolevsky, who was appointed to the post on March 31, 2014, on Thursday decided to terminate his labor contract early.

On the same day, on Thursday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk ordered Infrastructure Minister Maskym Burbak to study the issue of conformity of the airport’s head to the post run by him.

Boryspil International Airport is the main airport of the country and accounts for 50 percent of the passenger air transportation in Ukraine. More than 50 airlines fly from Boryspil to more than 100 destinations.

Boryspil International Airport is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe).
