You're reading: Brown calls for EU’s more active involvement in global cooperation

Europe should improve decision-making and be more actively involved in global cooperation, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown (2007-2010) has said.

“Europe’s current problems can be solved by improving decision-making
in the EU and through more active involvement of the EU in global
cooperation,” the press service of the Yalta European Strategy (YES)
quoted Brown as saying at the 9th Yalta Annual Meeting “Ukraine and the
World: Addressing Tomorrow’s Challenges Together” on Saturday.

In his opinion, Europe needs to take bold, tough and requisite
decisions, particularly relevant for fiscal and monetary union, which is
a must in order to save the European economy as a whole.
