"The president of Ukraine is planning to attend the Olympic Games in London," he said at a meeting of the National Olympic Committee in Koncha-Zaspa (Kyiv region) on Tuesday.
Bubka also invited Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov, who was chairing the meeting, to attend the Olympics too and support the national team.
Bubka also said that a meeting of the executive committee of the National Olympic Committee will be held at 1430 on July 4 to decide on the final squad of the national team.
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games will take place in London from July 27 until August 12.
