The Bulgarian authorities back providing Ukrainian citizens with the right to visit the European Union countries without visas, President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev said during a meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Groysman.

During a meeting in Kyiv on July 7, Plevneliev declared the readiness of Bulgaria to provide all possible assistance to Ukraine in the implementation of reforms and European integration, to share relevant experience, the press service of the Ukrainian parliament reported. “We want Ukraine to be a worthy member in the family of European nations,” he said.

“In this context, the Bulgarian president said that his country supported the need to introduce a visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens with the EU countries,” the statement reads.

During the meeting the sides noted the importance of bilateral cooperation in economic, humanitarian, educational and cultural areas.
