You're reading: Cabinet allocates Hr 4.4 million to buy apartments in Kyiv for families of servicemen killed in anti-terrorist operation

Ukraine's government has allocated Hr 4.4345 million for the Regional Development, Construction, Housing & Utilities Ministry to buy housing in Kyiv for families of servicemen killed in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in east Ukraine.

Respective government resolution No. 729-r dated Aug. 13, 2014, has been posted on the government’s Web site.

The servicemen include officers and other ranks who directly participated in the ATO, ensured law and order at the state border, resisted armed attacks at the facilities guarded by the military and who participated in the liberation of such facilities in case of their seizure or an attempt to forcedly withdraw weapons, military or other hardware.

In addition to money for Kyiv apartments, the ministry also received funds for 19 more oblasts, which will be transferred to respective regional administrations as major fund administrators.

In particular, Ivano-Frankivsk region will receive Hr 2.867 million, Zaporizhia region Hr 1.823 million, Kirovograd region Hr 1.695 million, Cherkasy region Hr 1.641 million, Kyiv region Hr 1.593 million, Vinnytsia region Hr 1.456 million, Donetsk region Hr 1.362 million, and Dnipropetrovsk region Hr 1.169 million.

The government also allocated Hr 847,300 to buy housing in Odesa region, Hr 715,400 in Mykolaiv and Chernivtsi region each, Hr 707,900 in Zhytomyr, Hr 604,400 in Khmelnytsky region, Hr 431,700 in Kherson region, Hr 394,700 in Volyn region, Hr 388,800 in Kharkiv region, Hr 311,000 in Chernihiv region, Hr 246,700 in Luhansk region, and Hr 214,500 in Lviv region.

The Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Ukrainian State Border Service’s administration, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Department were given two weeks to send the fund administrators the lists of the orphaned families who are on a housing improvement wait list and entitled to be given an apartment.

In keeping with the resolution, the costs for the apartments will be covered from the national budget’s reserve fund.

As reported with reference to Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak, the total sum of funds allocated by the government for the families of servicemen who died in the ATO is UHr 23.617 million.
