The Cabinet of Ministers has asked the parliament to change the law on the order of admittance and stay of foreign armed forces in the territory of Ukraine.

According to the website of the Verkhovna Rada, draft law No. 2953 on amending the law of Ukraine on the order of admittance and conditions of stay of the armed forces of other states in the territory of Ukraine was registered in the parliament on May 22. The initiators of the bill are Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

However, the text of the document or the accompanying documents are not available on the parliaments’ website.

As reported, Yatseniuk at a Cabinet meeting on May 20 said that “the government has asked the parliament to consider and allow the entrance of foreign military units in case when such foreign units carry out operations in support of peace and security based on the UN or EU resolutions.”
