British Prime Minister Cameron and European Union Council President Herman Van Rompuy have agreed that the EU should put further pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with escalation in east Ukraine.

“…they agreed that the EU should continue to put pressure on President Putin to deescalate the situation [in Ukraine],” reads a statement published on the British government’s Web site in the early hours of Thursday, Aug. 28.
