You're reading: Canadian instructors train 20 military law and order service officers

Instructors of the Canadian military police have finished training 20 officers of the military law and order service of Ukrainian armed forces, according to a press release issued by the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

“As a part of the agreement between the Main Directorate of the Military Law and Order Service of Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Staff of defense attaché of the Canadian embassy in Ukraine, foreign instructors have already finished training nearly 20 officers of Military Law and Order Service. Another 20 servicemen will take exams tomorrow [Aug. 21],” the report said on Aug. 20.

According to the Defense Ministry, the servicemen were trained for three weeks. The training included use of force and the peculiarities of pre-trial investigation.

The trainees learnt how to examine a crime scene correctly, look for evidence, and take fingerprints. Canadian instructors also shared their experience in questioning suspects and discussed the difficulties that might occur during work.

The Defense Ministry said that next training session would be held in autumn. Also, there are preliminary agreements that similar training will last at least three years.
