Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered the lists of candidates for people's deputies from the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union and the Civil Movement Party for the early parliamentary elections.

Such a decision was taken at a commission meeting on Monday.

A total of 215 candidates were registered under the Batkivschyna list, and the top five includes military pilot Nadia Savchenko, party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, Maidan activist and Kyiv City Council deputy Ihor Lutsenko, party co-chairman Serhiy Sobolev, and public activist Aliona Shkrum.

The Civil Movement list consists of 34 people, and the top five includes lawyer Anatoliy Bashlovka, journalist Zhan Novoseltsev, activists and public figures Dmytro Karp, Serhiy Opria and Oleksiy Isayev.

Thus, the lists of candidates for MPs from the Civil Position Party, the Communist Party and the Vidrozhennia Party have already been registered.

Under the law, if a parliamentary candidate is nominated by a party, all documents for his or her registration are submitted to the CEC by the party. At the same time, candidates running in single-member constituencies should submit their applications in person.

The early parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for Oct. 26.
