Six parties have managed to clear the 5 percent threshold of the snap parliamentary election on Oct. 26, 2014: the People's Front Party, the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, the Samopomich Union, the Opposition Bloc, Oleh Liashko's Radical Party, and the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union.
In particular, the People’s Front Party was supported by 22.14 percent of the voters, the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko by 21.81 percent, the Samopomich Union by 10.97 percent, the Opposition Bloc by 9.43 percent, the Radical Party by 7.44 percent, and the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union by 5.58 percent, according to the Central Election Commission’s protocol on the official results of the parliamentary election on party tickets, which was signed by all 15 CEC members.
Correspondingly, the People’s Front Party got 64 seats in the new parliament, the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko 63, the Samopomich Union 32, the Opposition Bloc 27, Oleh Liashko’s Radical Party 22, and the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union 17. A total of 225 MPs were elected on party tickets.
The Svoboda Party and the remaining 23 parties which were running for parliament on party tickets failed to clear the 5% threshold. Svoboda received 4.71 percent of votes.
The Communist Party was supported by a mere 3.88 percent of voters, Anatoliy Hrytsenko’s Civil Position Party scored 3.10 percent of votes, Sergiy Tigipko’s Strong Ukraine Party 3.11 percent, the Zastup All-Ukrainian Agrarian Union (Vira Ulyanchenko) 2.65 percent, and the Right Sector Party 1.80 percent.
Other parties failed to score even 1 percent of votes.
