You're reading: Central Election Commission forms 33,540 polling stations in Ukraine and 114 abroad

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has created 33,540 ordinary and special polling stations in Ukraine and 114 foreign polling stations in 77 countries.

Such a decision was taken at a commission meeting on April 12. Under the law, for the first time the polling stations for parliamentary elections are being created on a permanent basis.

In Ukraine, the commission formed 33,540 polling stations, in particular, 32,188 ordinary stations, 1,352 special stations, of which 1,200 were set up in inpatient hospitals and 152 in penal institutions.

In addition, the CEC created 114 foreign polling stations, including 110 at foreign diplomatic offices and four in the buildings of military units stationed outside Ukraine.

Parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28. They will be held under a mixed proportional party-list system (50×50).
