State Enterprise Research & Production Complex Photoprylad (Cherkasy) is reorienting supplies of its defense products from Russia to the European Union and the Middle East, the press service of the Ukroboronprom State Concern has reported, referring to Photoprylad Director Valentyn Hordiyenko.

The director said that the predominant part of export goods made by Photoprylad, in particular, systems for targeting, guidance and fire control of armored vehicles, combat helicopters, artillery, and antitank missile systems, had earlier been exported to Russia.

“As of today, the cooperation with Russia is suspended. Herewith, the communications with the countries of Europe and Nearest East have become more active,” he said.

“We have contacts with the countries of Nearest East, and cooperate with the number of famous West-European companies. The contract for the optic electronic devices supply is undergoing the signing process now,” he said.

According to him, thanks to the foreign orders the enterprise increased the production volumes by 1.5 times over last year, and there are plans to maintain this level this year.

“A high technological level of the company and qualified staff potential allow the production of modern, innovative products. It is taking its rightful place on the international arms markets,” Hordiyenko said.

Among the key top-priorities for developing Photoprylad is the upgrade of production facilities and the expansion of production.

The Photoprylad Research & Production Complex is a leading high-tech enterprise functioning to meet the needs of the Armed Forces, public health system, state institutions and organizations, as well as the citizens of Ukraine. Its core business is the development, design and production of optoelectronic devices and special-purpose equipment.

Since 2011, the enterprise has been part of Ukroboronprom State Concern under a decision of the government.
