Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed Vitaliy Zakharchenko to the post of interior minister of Ukraine. Decree No 1024/2011 on the appointment was posted on the official Web site of the president on Monday.

Prior to this, the president dismissed Zakharchenko from the post of the head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.
