A group of children from Snizhne (Donetsk region) who were going for recreation in Dnipropetrovsk region has been intercepted by gunmen, and the bus with children is currently heading to the Dolzhansky checkpoint in Luhansk region, according to the temporary website of Donetsk Regional State Administration.

“The location of a group of children who were intercepted today by
armed men on the outskirts of Snizhne has been established. According to
the data available now to the family and youth department of the
regional state administration, the bus with the children from Snizhne
proceeded to Krasny Luch in Luhansk region, where it headed to the
Dolzhansky checkpoint. The children are now on the border,” reads the
statement.

The plans of those who captured the bus are unknown.

The children and persons accompanying them do not have the necessary documents to cross the border.

Donetsk Regional State Administration is continuing to investigate
all circumstances of the incident and taking all possible measures to
preserve the life and health of the children.

According to the regional state administration, early on June 12, a
bus carrying 25 children, including orphans and those from family-type
orphanages, left Snizhne for recreation in Dnipropetrovsk region. At the
exit of the town the vehicle, which was escorted by a traffic police
car, was stopped. The traffic police car was cut off by armed
representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.
