You're reading: Combat-capable trainer aircraft, combat aircraft on basis of Su-27 put into service of Ukrainian army

Su-27UB1M and Su-27UP1M combat-capable trainer aircraft and Su-27S1M and Su-27P1M combat aircraft have been put into service of the Ukrainian Army, reads a posting on the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

The ministry said that order No. 499 was signed by Defense Minister Valeriy Heletei on Aug. 5, 2014.

“Su-27UB1M and Su-27UP1M combat-capable trainer aircraft and Su-27S1M
and Su-27P1M combat aircraft are intended for air clashes with small-
and medium-range weapon in any weather and any period of the day
irrespective of altitudes and speeds to provide training of pilots of
combat units and to improve the combat efficiency and opportunities,
exploitation and technical characteristics and technical servicing
system,” reads the report.

“Su-27UB1M and Su-27UP1M combat-capable trainer aircraft and Su-27S1M
and Su-27P1M combat aircraft are upgraded Su-27UB, Su-27UP, Su-27S and
Su-27P aircraft with additional equipment,” the ministry said.
