You're reading: Company created in Ukraine to implement advanced nanotechnology products

The Nanotechnologies in Medicine company (NanoMedTech) has been created in Ukraine to implement advanced products developed by Ukrainian scientists in the sphere of nanotechnologies.

The company was created through the integration of scientific potential and private capital.

At a presentation of the new company at the International Center of Electron-Emitting Technologies at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) on Friday, it was noted that NanoMedTech is the first company of such a level in Ukraine. The initiators of the company’s creation were NASU President Borys Paton, along with the well-known businessman and Industrial Union of Donbass co-owner Serhiy Taruta, who became the first investor in the domestic nanotechnology sector.

"The scientific potential of our country is huge, [and its] scientific developments are unique, but they will remain on paper or flow abroad if they are not invested in by the state or private investors. Therefore it is important to establish mutually beneficial partnerships in the innovation sphere, as a result of which everybody will gain profit. Nanotechnologies are, without exaggeration, the technologies of the future, and we are obliged to think about the future. The main thing is that these developments are to serve people and improve life quality. I see specific social significance of our project, its humanitarian value," Taruta said at the presentation.
