You're reading: Construction amnesty in Ukraine to start operating in 2015, maybe from March, says official

 The legalization of illegally constructed private residential and economic facilities of first and second construction difficulty category in Ukraine will be possible maybe from March 2015, and the new procedure for commissioning constructed facilities being drawn up will remove the possibility of legalization of private facilities illegally constructed before March 12, 2011.

 The press service of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate said that Inspectorate Head Maksym Martyniuk gave the information on the National Radio Company of Ukraine.

“I call all citizens to whose illegal facilities amnesty could be applied use the chance and legalize the facilities. I hope that by March 2015 all preparation work will be finished and citizens will be able to realize their right to legalize them,” he said.

Martyniuk said that the procedure for commissioning illegally constructed private residential and economic facilities being drain up by the inspectorate, which is to be approved by the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry will include mechanisms which prevent attempts of pass newly built illegal facilities for those to which amnesty could be applied.

“Now along with other documents, one should confirm that the facility was built over four year ago. For example, the bill for utilities services paid could be used as a proof,” he added.

A document confirming ownership right to the land plot on which the facility is built, the stocktaking certificate and a report on the examination of the state of the facility ordered by citizens themselves from the certified specialists are required to confirm the possibility of applying amnesty.

Martyniuk said that not fines will be collected from citizens.
