You're reading: Contact Group’s meeting on Dec. 25 in Minsk remains open question

MINSK - The organizers and attendees of a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine are not commenting on the possibility of meeting in Minsk on December 26.

The question of an extra meeting remains open, a source close to the Minsk meeting organizers told Interfax.

“Distance talks continue but so far it is hard to say exactly whether there will be an actual meeting in Minsk tomorrow,” the source said.

If the meeting does take place, “it is highly likely to be held in a closed format again,” he said.

It was reported that on Dec. 24 the Contact Group met in Minsk behind closed doors, without the press.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry does not have any information about the date of the next meeting either.
