You're reading: Council of Europe supports reform in Ukraine

Strasbourg, June 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Council of Europe supports reform in Ukraine and hopes that Ukraine's presidency of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers will be a success, PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu has said.

"We welcome and support the priorities of the Ukrainian presidency of the Council of Europe. We also welcome and encourage reform in Ukraine, particularly in the area of constitutional reform, electoral law reform and the fight against corruption," he told reporters after meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Strasbourg on Tuesday.

Cavusoglu said he was confident that Ukraine’s chairmanship of the Council of Ministers would be a success. He also noted that Ukraine would receive full support during this period.
