You're reading: Court arrests flight attendant who informed militants about flights of Ukrainian warplanes

Babushkinsky district court of Dnipropetrovsk has put a flight attendant in custody for two months for colluding with the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic," which has been declared a terrorist organization.

According to the press group of the Office of the Security Service of
Ukraine (SBU) in Dnipropetrovsk region, a pre-trial investigation is
being conducted, due to a criminal proceeding under Part 1, Article
258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (creation of a terrorist group or
organization).

According to the investigation, a 29-year old citizen of Ukraine was
illegally obtaining data on the location of military aircraft of the
anti-terrorist operation detachments on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk
international airport. Then he sent the data to the militants to be used
against Ukrainian military.

“SBU established that the flight attendant had been recruited by a
terrorist in Horlivka in July 2014. The offender in his own hand drew
and gave a map of Dnipropetrovsk airport to a terrorist with locations
of military equipment and aircraft indicated. Then the flight attendant
returned to his official duty performance and continued to inform his
handlers from Horlivka of flights by Ukrainian planes via mobile
communications and texting,” the press group reported.

As reported, on July 18, employees of SBU office in Dnipropetrovsk
region detained the flight attendant of Windrose Airlines, who had often
been in Dnipropetrovsk airport because of his professional duties. He
had been giving the information on location of military equipment and
aircraft to the militants and had also informed them of the flight
schedules of Ukrainian Air Force planes.
