Simferopol - A delegation of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars and the leaders of the Turkish Republic discussed the issues related to the current situation in Crimea and protection of the Crimean Tatar people' rights on the peninsula, as well as guaranteeing security of living on their motherland.

On Nov. 25, the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Chairman of the Religious Management, Professor and Doctor Mehmet Gormez in Ankara, reads an official page of Mejlis on Facebook.

“It’s noteworthy, that official meetings of the Crimean Tatar delegation with the leadership of the Turkish Republic took place ahead of the forthcoming in early December a working visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey,” the report said.

As reported, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said during his visit to Kyiv on Nov. 10 that Turkey planned to send an informal delegation to Crimea to study the situation with the Crimean Tatars.

He said that Turkey many times stated that it doesn’t back Crimea’s annexation, but “people shouldn’t suffer from this.”

Besides, the minister said that Turkey constantly considers possible providing of help to the Crimean Tatar people due to Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency, as well as the Management of Religion in Turkey.
