You're reading: Crimean officials: Ukrainians to be able to visit Crimea freely from April 25

 Citizens of Ukraine will be able to visit Crimea without restrictions from April 25, the Crimean government said on April 14. "The border between Crimea and Ukraine will function full scale as from April 25. As from April 25, citizens of Ukraine will be able to visit the Republic of Crimea without restrictions," the government said in a statement posted in the VKontakte online social network.

It said the Crimean border guard service operates 27 checkpoints on the Ukrainian border.

“We are starting full-scale work on April 25. We hope that our
counterparts on the Ukrainian side will carry out similar measures,” the
statement quoted Crimean border guard chief Andrei Panov as saying.
