You're reading: Crimean parliament instructs ministers’ council to amend language law by October 10

SIMFEROPOL – The Supreme Council of Crimea has instructed the Council of Ministers of Crimea to draw up and submit to the Crimean parliament its proposals on the implementation of the law of Ukraine on the principles of the state language policy in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by October 10, 2012.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, the Crimean parliament approved this decision at a special sitting on Wednesday.

Out of 88 deputies that took part in the vote, 82 deputies supported it and one deputy voted against the decision.

The parliament also asked the government to inform the Crimean population on the essence of the language law.
