You're reading: Criminal case opened against top tax inspectorate official in Crimea

The prosecutor's office of Bakhchisaray district in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has opened a criminal case against one of the heads of the State Tax Inspection in this district on charges of bribery.

The media liaisons department of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Wednesday that the official was suspected of taking bribes from a businessman to prevent charges being brought against the entrepreneur.

The official was dismissed from his post, and charges were brought against him under Part 2, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery).

The probe into the case is continuing.
