Lviv police have opened a criminal case on a shooting in Lviv on May 9, Zaxid.net online publication has reported, citing Denys Kharchuk, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Lviv region.

He said that a statement on the shooting and leg wound suffered by a Svoboda Party member had been submitted to police.

The man who fired the shot – a resident of Lviv – was detained on May 9, Kharchuk said.

As reported, a Svoboda Party member was wounded by a shot from an air gun during a clash with unknown individuals who planned to unfurl a red flag near the Hill of Glory memorial in Lviv.
