You're reading: Customs Union veterinary specialists complete checks on Ukrainian milk, meat and fish producers

Experts from Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor, along with the veterinary services of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Economic Commission, have completed checks on Ukrainian producers of dairy goods, meat and fish products that want to supply the markets of Customs Union countries. 

According to a report on the official Web site of Rosselkhoznadzor, during their visit to Ukraine, the experts inspected 28 enterprises producing beef, pork, poultry, finished meat and dairy products, fish and fish products.

The outcome of the inspection is being analyzed.

The purpose of the visit was to study the effectiveness of the inspection system of the Veterinary Service of Ukraine to guarantee the safety of animal products intended for supply to the Customs Union, said Rosselkhoznadzor.

As reported, veterinary specialists from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus on July 9 arrived in Ukraine to inspect the system of the Veterinary Service of Ukraine, as well as national enterprises engaged in production of dairy, meat and fish products.

The inspectors planned to visit the testing center of the State Scientific and Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnosis and Veterinary and Sanitary Examination.
