A forensic medical examination of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko does not contain a direct answer to the question whether she could attend court sessions, her defense lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, has said.

“The examination is ready. It was included in the case materials. They [forensic experts] have done everything in line with medical records. But they cannot answer the main question: ‘Can Tymoshenko participate in court sessions?'” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

Vlasenko also noted that the court received the results of the examination in three volumes on Friday at around 1500 and that he had no opportunity to study the materials in full.

As reported, on June 25, the Kyivsky District Court in Kharkiv granted the state prosecutor’s request to order a forensic medical examination of Tymoshenko’s health. The court motivated its decision by not having obtained any exact information about her condition since the start of the legal proceedings.

The next hearing of the UESU case is scheduled for July 23.
