Almost 22,000 Russian troops are currently in Crimea, acting Defense Ministry of Ukraine Ihor Teniukh has reported.

He said that this number is enough for offensive on Crimea.

“The general number of Russian soldiers in Crimea reached 22,000 people. That force, which has been based on the territory of Crimea, could be used for offensive on the rest of the territory of Crimea,” he said in a program Shuster-Live on First National Channel on Friday evening.

Teniukh also reported that big landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are mooring in the Yalta port and military equipment is being disembarked from the ships.

However, the minister said he is sure that Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to repulse the enemies and defend the territory of Ukraine and its sovereignty.

As reported, Teniukh said on March 8 that there were about 18,000 Russian troops in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including 6,000 special-forces servicemen.
