A Ukrainian military delegation led by Defense Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Salamatin has started a visit to Afghanistan.
According to a ministry's press service, during the visit, Salamatin is expected to meet in Kabul with President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, and Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) General John Allen.
In Chaghcharan, the minister will participate in an award ceremony for the Ukrainian peacekeepers from the Lithuanian-led Ghor Provincial Reconstruction Team and partners in the coalition. Moreover, Salamatin will check how Ukrainian peacekeepers are fulfilling their tasks in Afghanistan on the front line of the operation base of the Lithuanian-led Ghor Provincial Reconstruction Team of the Regional Command West.
On September 12, after visiting Afghanistan, the Ukrainian military delegation headed by Salamatin will pay an official visit to Vietnam.
