In connection with the bringing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine up to combat readiness due to Russian military aggression against Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated Hr 86.9 million from the budget reserve fund for providing food to the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense has reported.

“Funds for food were allocated from the reserve fund in the amount of Hr 86.9 million,” the head of the central food supply department of
the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Andrukh, said at a briefing in
Kyiv.

“Today, despite the substantial increase in the personnel of the
Armed Forces of Ukraine over the last two months, catering for military
men is provided in full, and all military personnel receive food free of
charge,” he said.

At the same time, the armed forces received foreign charitable
assistance to ensure the timely provision of food for officers. In
particular, the United States supplied 300,000 MRE field rations to
Ukraine, he said.

The field rations were delivered to all military units at which it is impossible to organize hot meal, he added.
